Edgefield, SC: Margaret Phillips, 77, formerly of 766 Highway 378 East, tranistion of Saturday, March 14, 2026 in NHC Healthcare, Greenoowd, SC, after declining health.
She was born in Edgefield, SC, January 27, 1949, daughter of the late O W and Hurley Gilliam Phillips. She was a member of Willow Spring Baptist Church. Margaret received her education in the public schools of Edgefield, South Carolina where she graduated from W E Parker High School in 1969. During her working life she worked as a Nurses Aide. Margaret was a member of Women Home Aide Society #126.
In addition to parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Johnnie Gilliam, James Gilliam, Liza Phillips, Carrie Lindsey and Dorothy Phillips.
She leaves to cherish and honor her memory; son, Marcus Phillips of Tennesse; two grandchildren Markasia Phillips and Marcus Phillips, Jr.; sister, Maggie Phillips of Greewood, SC; two brothers, George (Pamela) Phillips of Maryland and O W Phillips of Johnston, SC; neices, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
The family is at the home of her sister, Maggie Phillips, 310 Ellenburg Avenue, Greenwood, SC .
