Saluda, SC: Marshall Butler, 68, departed this life Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Hospice House of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.
He was born in Saluda, SC, on July 30, 1957, son of Johnnie Mae Anderson Butler and the late Freddie Butler, Jr.. He received his education the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina where he graduated from Saluda High School. At an early age, he joined Mt. Enon Baptist Church. His work history began at the Adams Plant a division of Greenwood Mills, he also worked at Amick farms and Johnson Landscaping.
He was married to Janet Myers Butler and this union was blessed with three children.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Kaison D.J. Butler and Andra Butler, Jr..
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory; his mother, Johnnie Mae Butler of Saluda, SC, his wife, Janet M. Butler of Saluda, SC; three children, Andra J. (Lillian R.) Butler, Sr. of Saluda, SC, Kenneth (Dion) Butler of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Natasha S. Butler of Raleigh, NC; brother, Johnny Butler, Jr. Saluda, SC; two sisters, Evelyn B. Werts and Corinthia B. Davenport of both of Saluda, SC; eight grandchildren, D'Vauge J. Lott, Kyla Rhodes, Ace M. Butler, Dominique Chatman, Desimond Chatman, Alannah Butler, Aryannah Butler and Na'Ollie A. Butler; five great grands, Kyng Alijah Chatman, Lilly Chatman, Cameron Butler, Ma,Layah J. Lott and Y'Zeilla J. Lott; special niece, Latate R. Werts (Jermaine) Clark; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law; one uncle; and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
The family is at the home of his son, Andra (Lillian) Butler, Sr., 1233 Newberry Highway, Saluda, SC.
