Martha Bletcher

Saluda, SC:  Martha Marie Johnson Bletcher, 67, the widow of Henry Bletcher transitioned from this life into eternal rest, on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Saluda Nursing Center.

She was born in Batesburg, SC, on December 16, 1956, daughter of the late Gertrude Johnson Mathis and the late Pete Gantt. She received her education in the public school of Lexington and Saluda Counties, SC. She was of Baptist Faith.

She was married to Henry Bletcher who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with three children. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by son, Jamie Bletcher and siblings, Anna Herman, Roberta Sulton and John Lee Mathis.

She leaves to cherish and honor her memory; two daughters, Denise Bletcher of Saluda, SC and Felisha Bletcher of Greenwood, SC; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Sulton of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Johnny B (Lillie Mae) Bledsoe of Saluda, SC; other in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Friday, 2/23/24 at Mine Creek Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.  The body will be placed in church at 12 noon.

Family Viewing 1-2 pm and Public will be 2-5 p.m. Thursday, 2/22/24 at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Denise Bletcher 126 Perry Road, Saluda, SC.
