Mary Lee Butler

Saluda, SC:  Mary Lee Foster Butler of 362 Logan Street, the widow the late Fred Butler gained her wings to go home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at her home after declining health,

She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 7, 1933, daughter of the Walter ad Frances Miller Foster. She was reared in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She received her education in the public schools of Hattiesburg, MS.  She met and married Fred Butler and later in 1960 they moved to Saluda, South Carolina to live.  They brought with them her sisters and brother whom they raised. She and her husband and family became member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was also a member of Woman's Home Aide Society No 126.

After moving to Saluda, she found employment at Riverside High where she worked in the Cafeteria, later on at Knights Industry her last employment was for Billy Amick and Family until her retirement.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Fredna "Missy" Butler; siblings, Francis (Bubba) Walker, Alberta Cole, Alma Jean Moore and  Annie Marie Walker.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; son, Byron Butler and daughter, Sheila (Darryl) Caretaker of the home; three grands, Brian Anderson and Ashley Anderson of San Diego, CA and Deshondra Tinch of Greer, SC; sisters, Cynthia (David) Downing Saluda, SC, Libby Ruth Walker of Los Angles, CA and Jacqueline (Louis) Berkel of New Orleans; sister-in-law, Reverend Mildred Walker of Saluda, SC; brother-in-law, George H. Moore of Saluda, SC; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.

The family is at the home.
