Mother Naomi Butler Goode

Mother Naomi Butler Goode transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life in Paradise on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in HospiceCare of the Piedmont.

Mother Naomi Butler Goode was born July 2, 1932, in Saluda County, South Carolina to Ernest and Cora Goudy Butler. Naomi was the youngest of ten children, eight preceded her in death, Bessie Wallace, Louise Culbreath, Ervin Butler, Ida Washington, Ludnie (Lubbie) Butler, Emory Butler, Isaac Butler and Frank Jesse Butler. Naomi grew up in a Christian home. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined the Young Mount Zion Baptist Church in Saluda, South Carolina, where she maintained her membership until her homegoing.
 
Naomi attended Union Hope School and graduated from Riverside High School in May, 1951.
In 1946, Naomi met the love of her life Mr. Ezekiel Goode Jr. and they were united in marriage on April 10, 1951. Together they reared four children, one infant girl ( Shirley Goode) preceded them in death. Naomi was loved and cared for by her devoted husband Ezekiel until his last breath, January 23, 2005.
Naomi sent her early years of marriage as a stay at home mom providing and nurturing life skills for her four children and other children she provided daycare service to.
 
Naomi went to work outside of the home in 1964 at Self Memorial Hospital until 1982.
 
Naomi loved cooking, gardening and putting a smile on your face with her heartfelt compliments.
 
In passing on to her Heavenly home smiling, Mother Naomi leaves to cherish her sweet memories, four children, Mrs. Rachel Glover (Benjamin), Mrs. Dorothy Harry (William) of Stone Mountain, GA , Randolph Goode (Thomasenia) and Ezekiel Goode III (Benita) of Ninety Six, SC; a devoted goddaughter , Stacey Adams; One brother, John Louis Butler; and one niece/sister, Gladys Jabber; three sister-in –laws, Pauline Carroll, Daisy Goode and Viola Butler; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grands; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends; two wonderful supportive nieces Bobbie Jean Robinson and Marilyn Wallace that help to provide support during her declining health.
 
A Celebration of Her Life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, Ninety Six, SC, with the pastor Reverend Willie Cannady - Eulogist and Reverend Raymond Adams - Presiding. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.  Viewing will be held at the funeral home Friday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The family is at the home 6521 Highway 702, Ninety-Six, SC.
