Detroit, MI: Ora Louise Wallace, affectionately known as "Sister" 89 of Detroit, Michigan passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 16,2026.
She was born in Saluda County March 1, 1937 to the late Johnnie and Roberta Bates. She was a member of Lockhart Baptist Church. Ora graduated from Rosenwald High School in Saluda, SC in 1955. After graduation she moved to Philadelphia, PA where she lived and worked for several years. She was united in marriage to Johnny Wallace who preceded her in death. Later in life she relocated to Detroit, MI. Ora was a loving sister, daughter, auntie, great aunt, and great great aunt.
In addition to her parents and husband; she was also preceded by siblings, Edith Bridges, Annie L. Bennett, Edward Bates, Thelma Robinson, L. B. Bates, and Gonzie L. Bates.
She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Johnny Bates of Maryland, Harold (Ann)Bates of Washington, DC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
