Mr. Otis Wells

Saluda, SC:  Mr. Otis Well, Jr.,  79, departed this life Monday, March 8, 2021, in NHC Healthcare in Greenwood, SC.

He was born in Saluda, SC, on December 4, 1941, son of the late Otis Cleveland Wells, Sr. and the late Mary Farrow Wells. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina. 

At an early age, he joined Crossroad AME Church and after the closure of Crossroad he became a member of Wateree AME Church he was a faithful member until health declined. He retired from Satterfield Construction after forty years of service.

He was married to Betty Ruth Butler Wells who preceded him in death. To this union five children were born, one daughter, Angley Wells also preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death siblings, Willie Wells and Gennie Mae Brunson.

He leaves to cherish his memory; two sons, Clifford (Tonya) Wells and James C. Wells both of Saluda, SC; daughters, Gloria Hendley of Saluda, SC and Shelia (Kenneth) Padgett of Johnston, SC; two brothers, Johnny Miles of Ninety-six, SC and George (Mary) Wells of Camden, SC; sisters, Grace Henley of Greenwood, SC and Janie Bell Wells of Aiken, SC; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nellie Christie; brother-in-law, Thomas C. Farrow; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
