Robert Baker
Saluda, SC: Robert Baker, 58, gained his heavenly wings on early Friday morning, January 13, 2023 and entered into eternal rest in Columbia, SC.
He was born in Saluda, SC, Augutst 24, 1964, son of Edna Hill Baker and the late George Baker. He was reared in the home of his grandmother, the late Flora Blocker Hill, along with his cousins, Travis, Terrence and Stanley Hill.He was a member of New Salem CME Church. He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, South Carolina graduating from Saluda School in 1984. Robert worked at Knight's Industry as a packer until the plant closed.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death of siblings, Roy Dale Baker and Angela Michele Baker.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory; his mother, Edna H. Baker and stepfather, Julian Hodges Harrison of Johnston, SC; brothers, Darrell (Tammy) Baker, Horace Baker (Tasha) and Jody Baker all of Johnston, SC; sisters, Yvonne B. Mathis (Melvin George) (caretaker), Johnson City, Tennesee and Joyce Jones of Saluda, SC; Travis, Terrence and Stanley Hill (cousins reared like brothers) of Saluda, SC; uncles, AC Hill (Diane) and Jesse (Geneva) Hill of Saluda, SC: aunts, Velma (Melvin) Barnes, Willie Mae Hill and Johnnie Mae Hill all of Saluda, SC, Rosetta H. Hall of Johnston, SC and Clara (Johnny Lee) Lorick of North Carolina; The Warren Family of Auburn, ALA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at New Salem CME Church with burial in Little Angels Memorial Park, Highway 378, Saluda, SC. The body will be placed in the church at 12 o'clock.
Family viewing will be Wednesday 1-2 p.m. and Public viewing will be 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of his brother, Darrell (Tammy) Baker, 15 Greenfield Court, Johnston, SC, no visitation at the home on Tuesday visitation will resume on Wednesday. Thanks for your support.
