Mr. Robert James (Dandy) Martin

McCormick, SC:  Mr. Robert James Martin, 77, the widower of Beatrice Key Martin, died on Monday, May 13, 2019 in Aiken Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Edgefield, SC, son of the late Jessie Martin and the late Willie Span McDaniel. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Robert and Fannie Martin. He was a member  of the Springfield Baptist Church and the Men's of Aide.  He was a retired log truck driver.

He is survived by; two daughters, Maria Cunningham of McCormick, SC and Connie Surry of Taylors, SC; four grandchildren, Kemon Cunningham, Kizziah Cunningham, Keldrick Cunningham, Jr. and Jarvise Reynolds; stepmother, Helen McDaniel of McCormick, SC;  brothers, Tyrone (Virginia)McCreary of Washington, DC, David Wideman and Frank McDaniel both of Greenwood, SC; sisters, Roberta Patterson, Mary Johnson, Cathy (Al) Williams, Linda (Ricky) Calhoun and Nora (Thomas) Calliham all of Greenwood, SC, Diane McCreary, Fannie Mae Jackson and Beatrice Adams all of Washington, DC;  two sisters-in-law, Josie M. Gilchrist and Jennie Bell Williams both of Edgefield, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and sorrowing friends.

A Celebration of His Life will be 12 Noon Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Springfield Baptist Church conducted by the pastor Reverend C. Moses Myers with others assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 A.M.

Viewing will be 1-8 p.m. Friday 3/17/19 at the funeral home. 

The family is at the home 508 Highway 378 West, McCormick, SC.
