Saluda, SC: Ruthell Mobley Minick Mason, 90, of 113 Ruthell Lane, passed away Wednesday night, April 5, 2017, in Self Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Saluda County, SC, daughter of the late Alonza and Amelia Williams Mobley. She received her education in the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina.
At an early age, she joined the Mine Creek Baptist Church where she attended regularily and served faith until declining health. She was also a member of the Mine Creek Burial Aide Society and the Woman's Home Aide Society No 20.
She was first married to Willie (Shep) Minick who preceded her in death. To this union eight children were born, son, Lester Minick preceded her in death. Later in life she married Charlie Mason who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by; sons, Melvin (Cynthia) Minick and Toney (Betty) Minick both of Saluda, SC; daugthers, Ida D. Minick and Willie Jean Minick both of Landover, MD, Ann Anderson, Leila A. Dunn and Shirley Minick all of Saluda, SC; stepsons, Eric (Angie) Booker of New York and Charles (Tonya) Booker of Landover, MD; stepdaughters, Deatrice Mason of Oxen Hill, MD and March Harper of Washington, DC; twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty great grandchildre, eight great-great grandchildren daughter-in-law, Julie Minick of Newberry, SC; sister-in-law, Sophia Lasane of Washington, DC; brother-in-law, George K. Mason of Saluda, SC; two special cousins, Johnny Williams and Lois Gibson both of Saluda, SC; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends.
Homegoing Celebration and burial will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017 - 2:00 p.m. at the Mine Creek Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Johnny Peterson, presiding and Reverend Arthur Kemp Eulogist. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Viewing will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Leila Ann Dunn, 116 Dean Road, Saluda, SC.
