Sallie Mae Holloway Williams
Saluda, SC: Sallie Mae Holloway (Tillie) Williams, 84, of 244 Dozier Road, the widow of Johnnie Williams, Jr. entered into eternal rest, Sunday, July 17, 2022 at her residence.
She was born in Saluda, SC July 9, 1938, daughter of the late Abraham Holloway, Sr. and the late Annie Mae Dozier Holloway. She was a 1958 graduate of Rosenwald High School.
Early in life, Sallie joined the Rock Hill Baptist Church where she was a faithful member and she sang on Rock Hill Senior Choir.
Sallie Mae was married to the late Johnnie Williams, Jr. for fifty-nine years. This union was blessed with five children, one son. Kelvin Williams preceded her in death.
After her marriage to her beloved husband, they moved to Washington, DC area where she was a devoted wife and mother. They moved back to Saluda in 1970, she gained employment as a seamtress at Saluda Shirt Plant until she retired. Sallie love to decorate and she loved plants.
In addition to her parents, husband and son; she was also preceded in death by siblings, Abraham Holloway, Jr., Annie Julia Williams and Frankie Walker.
Leaving to honor and cherish her precious memories; daughters, Teresa Williams of the home, Jennette Bosket (Stevie) of West Columbia, SC and Lessile Geiger (Dwan) of New Port News, VA; son, Lawrence (Katrina) Williams of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, Takka, Chakka, Lashonya, Tilmelia and Michael; nine great grands; sisters, Barbara Hare, Roosevelt, NY, Willette McCloud (Johnny), Adran Holloway and Doris Jean Young (MacField) all of Saluda, SC, Gracie Foggie of Greenwood, SC, and Shirneata Todd (Dennis) of Simpsonville, SC; brothers, Leroy (Louise) Holloway and Codell Holloway both of Greenwood, SC; brother-in-law, Reverend Aaron Walker of Saluda, SC; special cousin, Louise Pope; special friend/cousin, Shirley Pugh; best friend, Fairy Bell Ouzts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Rock Hill Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Dr. Richard Dozier - Eulogist, presiding will be Apostle David Holloway with others assisting. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 12 p.m.
Family viewing will be 1-2 p.m. and public viewing will be 2-6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
