Shameeka Latoya McRae

Saluda, SC:  Shameeka L. McRae of 114 LaSallle St, departed this life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the home of her parents.

She was born in Princeton, NJ, on October 13, 1985, daughter of Curtis McRae and the late Kim Powell and she was reared in the home of  her grandparents, Alvin and Antoinette Ball Watson. She graduated from South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind, Spartanburg, SC. She was baptized and became a member of Young Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Shameeka once worked as a janitor at McDonald's, Lexington, SC. She was an avid fan of Lakers and Chicago Bulls.

She leaves to cherish and honor her memory; her devoted grandparents, Alvin and Antoinette Ball Watson of Saluda, SC; father Curtis McRae of Saluda, SC; sisters, Jamaris David of Atlanta, GA and Porsha Steward of Trenton, NJ and Tiesha Long of Columba, SC; brother, Alvin Marcus Scurry of Columbia, SC; several step-sisters and step-brothers; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of her life will 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Young Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon. 

Viewing will Sunday, March 3, 2024 at the funeral Home 3-5 p.m.
