Sophie Long Etheredge

Leesville, SC:  Sophie Long Etheredge 65, was born in Batesburg, SC, February 8, 1959, daughter of the late E W Long and the late Rosa Bell Jackson Long.  She departed this life peacefully Monday, December 2, 2024 in Lexington Medical Center.

She received her education in the public schools of Batesburg, South Carolina. At an early age, she joined Olive Branch Baptist Church and she attended Branch Hill United Methodist Church. She was once married to Sam Etheredge, Jr. and to this union four children were born. She was a former employee of Knight's Industry and Amick Farms. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles Gantt, Benson Long, Herbert Long and Roger Long.

She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Clifton Etheredge and Travis Etheredge both of Leesville, SC; daughter, Felicia (Gregory) Seawright of Wagener, SC and Samantha Etheredge of Gaston, SC; five grandchildren, Brittany Cook, Jazmine Johnson, Latiffah Etheredge, Lanekia Burt, Nyla Etheredge and Paige Keller and three great grandchildren; brother,  Lawrence Long of Batesburg, SC; sisters, Leitha (Nathaniel) Henderson and Debra (Carl) Hunter both of Batesburg, SC and Seria Cannon of Lexington, SC; in-laws; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Felicia and Gregory Seawright, 1625 Wagener Trail Road, Wagener, SC.
