Saluda, SC: Thomas (Buck) Pace, widower of Mamie Barnes Pace went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Self Regional Healthcare.
He was born in Saluda, SC, November9, 1950, he was the son of the late Willie Morris and Carrie Lou Mobley Pace, He received his education in the public schools of Saluda County, SC where he graduated from Riverside High in the class of 1970. At an early, age he joined Young Mt Zion Baptist and later united with Poplar Branch Baptist where he worshipped with his wife, the late Mamie Barnes Pace. He worked many different job during his working life and he retired from Amick Farms after many years of service. He love sports, his favorite sports was football.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Janice P. Dozier and Margaret F. Springs.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory; Ericka Etheredge-niece (whom is like a daughter) of the home; two sons, Timmie Pace of Greenwood, SC and Tony Pace of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren; sisters, Willie Pearl (Warren) Black of Johnston, SC, Frances Carreker and Reverend Sue P. Golston both of Detroit, MI; brothers James (Susan) Pace of Newberry, SC and Governor Frank (Sara) Pace of Saluda, SC; one aunt, Janie M. Bonham of Saluda, SC; one sister-in-law, Betty Ann Etheredge of Goldsboro, NC; brothers-in-law, Roy (Marylin) Barnes and Melvin (Jean) Barnes both of Saluda, SC and Benjamin (Lucile) Barnes of Landrum, MD; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
A Celebration of his life will be 12 Noon, Friday, March1, 2024 at Young Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial in Poplar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 A.M.
Public will be Thursday 1-2pm Family Viewing and Public viewing will be 2-6 pm. at the funeral home.
