Virginia Louise Burton
Johnston, SC: Virginia Louise Stranton Burton of 210 Burton Road, the wife of Claude Burton passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 at her home.
She was born in Maxton, NC, on April 22, 1943, daughter of the late Arthur and Beatrice Patterson Stranton. She later moved to New York where she met the love of her life, Claude Burton and they married on February 12, 1970. She worked at Franklin General Hospital in New York. Later moved to South Carolina and was employed at Knight's Industries until declining health. She was of Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by son, Tony Adams siblings, Lawrence Stranton and James Stranton.
She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
She was affectionately called Jenny and she leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her devoted husband, Claude Burton of the home; sisters-in-law, Annie B. Stranton, Maxton, NC, Maggie Burton, Annie Bell Grant, Viola Pugh and Cherry Burton all of Johnston, SC; brothers-in-law, Elijah Burton, Jr., Johnston, SC; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Graveside Services Celebrating her Life will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 at Sunset Garden's Memorial Cemetery, 1305 Columbia Road, Johnston, SC, conducted by Reverend Stacy Mills with others assisting. The will be viewed at the cemetery 10-11 a.m.
Viewing will be Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the funeral home 12-6 p.m.
