Virginia Culbreath Grissom
Johnston, SC: Virginia Culbreath Grissom, 72, of 78 Monument Drive, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Edgefield County Healthcare.
She was born in Saluda, SC, November 18, 1950, daughter of the late Bennie and Essie Mae Lott Culbreath. She received her education in the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina and Washington, DC graduating from Cardoza High School. She was a member of Bethlehm Baptist Church during her early life and she was also a member WHAS #126. She was a retired CNA and she retired from Villa Rosa Nursing Home, Mitchellville, Maryland, after twenty-five years of service. Later she and her son relocated to Johnston, SC, to live sometime around 2006 or 2007.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, George Culbreath, Bill Culbreath, Virgil Culbreath, LB Culbreath, John H. Rauch and Ethel Stevens McManus.
Those who knew Virginia, know that she was soft spoken,quiet, kind and kept to herself and she will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Virginia was the last survivor of her immediate family.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory, son, Richard Grissom of the home; sister-in-law, Elnora Culbreath of Saluda, sC; niece, Lula W. Stevens (Caretaker) of Johnston, SC; a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
The family is at the home of Lula W. Stevens, 102 Sycamore Street, Johnston, SC..
