Walter Smith, Jr.

Saluda, SC:  Walter "Dick"  Smith, Jr., 76, of 109 Fox Drive, gained his wings and entered into the Arms of Jesus, Thursday, September 12, 2024 at his residence.

He was born in Saluda, SC, May 24, 1948, son of the late Walter, Sr. and Ina Glover Smith. 

At an early age, Walter joined Lockhart Baptist Church. He received his educationn in the public schools of Saluda, South Carolina.  Walter worked with pulpwood most of his life and later he worked for Bobby Ruff for many years, doing the upkeep on mobile homes. 

Walter was a good brother and uncle to all his family. He loved telling jokes and making everyone laugh. He loved listen to Old School Music. He had a Big Heart if he could help anyway he would do just that. He never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings; Lannie Jackson, Johnny Bell Smith, Catherine Sandlin, Edna M. Smith, Brenda D. Smith, Joe Smith and Willie Smith.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory; sisters, Mamie Lott and Carol Smith (devoted caretaker) both of Saluda, SC; one brother, Sammie Smith of Saluda, SC; sister-in-law, Regina Smith of Saluda, SC; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

The family is receiving friends at his sister home, Carol Smith, 141 Fox Drive, Saluda, SC.
