Mr. Willie James Turner
Ridge Spring, SC: Mr. Willie James Turner, 91, of 215 Mobley, the husband of Veola Barnes Turner, passed away on February 25, 2017 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center, Aiken, SC.
He was born in Saluda, SC, son of the late Willie and Lue Ella Holloway Turner. He was a member of the Rock Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Senior Choir Leader, Mt. Cannan Brotherhood and the Sons of Aide. He was a Barber and retired from Ft. Jackson Upholstery Shop.
He is survived by; his wife, Veola B. Turner of the home; daughter, Ruby J. Mobley of the home; grandson, Juan (Paula) Mobley of Charlotte, NC; three great grandchildren, Riley, Reagan and Blake Ella Mobley; two sisters, Sallie L. Vaughn of Springfield, MA and Annie R. Jenkins of Aiken, SC; in-laws, Josie (Raymond) Adams, Carrie (Edward) Bates, James (Thelma) Barnes, David (Jessie) Barnes, Ruby Barnes, Rosa Mae Barnes, and James Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services and burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, 3/2/17 at Rock Hill Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Herbert Martin and others. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
Public viewing will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
