Willie James Williams Obituary
Born on February 26, 1951, Elder Willie James Williams was the second of seven children born to Tommie Williams, Sr. and Eva Mae Culbreath Williams. Willie James grew up in Ward, South Carolina.

He attended Ridge Hill High School before going on to trade school for mechanics. He later served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Specialist Four (SP4). As an Infantry Direct Fire Crewman, he completed training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and later served with Company C, 1st Battalion, 509th Infantry. During his military service, he spent over a year stationed in Europe and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

After being honorably discharged, he attended Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, where he graduated with honors with a degree in Business and Accounting.
 

After graduating, Willie James worked for a short time at Graniteville Mill before beginning his career at R.E. Phelon, where he worked as a Quality Engineer until his retirement. After retirement, he started his own business repairing tractors and lawnmowers. This was not only a profession but it was his hobby.

Elder Willie James also faithfully served as pastor of The Church of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith in Johnston, South Carolina. His passion was teaching the Word of God, especially Bible prophecy concerning the end times.

Willie James was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie Williams, Sr. and Eva Mae Culbreath Williams and his sisters Ruth Smith and Doris Williams-McNeely.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Williams; his daughter, Kendra Williams Price (Lane); his sons, James Timothy Williams (Ashley) and Joseph Virlynn Williams. He is also survived by his four siblings: Tommie (Evangeline) Williams of Ward, SC; Ernest (Renee) Williams of Columbia, SC; Donald Williams of Johnston, SC; and Lesa (Kevin) Jones of Accokeek, MD, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and dear friends.
Willie James was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him.
